The Society's Open Day is also Buckinghamshire's major family history event and the day when all of the Society's research libraries will be available in one place, including the Buckinghamshire names database, containing well over five million entries taken from parish registers, wills, census returns and many other documents, which is fully searchable - come along and let us help you track down that elusive ancestor.

Our parish register transcripts and other publications will be on sale, and there will be lots of help and advice available from friendly, experienced family historians. There will also be a talk aimed at newcomers to family history.

It's also your opportunity to talk to guest family history societies from around the country. Alongside them will be a mix of archives, museums, local history groups and the customary range of suppliers of maps, books, software, archival materials and other services.

Entry is free, and tea and coffee will be available, so why not bring a packed lunch and make a day of it.

Free parking is available at the venue. If you're not driving, Chiltern Railways operate services from London Marylebone and elsewhere to Aylesbury, or Thame and Haddenham Parkway (change to Arriva service 280 for Aylesbury, up to three buses each hour). From Aylesbury bus station take Arriva service 50 towards Wendover, alighting on Wendover Road opposite Chaucer Drive, about eight minutes walk from the venue.
